RESEARCH
You can’t improve what you don’t measure
-Peter Drucker

1. Currently, the West OK Co-Op is working with the University of Oklahoma through the fellowship of Andrew Stone to conduct economic development research about Clinton’s Historical Downtown along side well known urban planner and associate director of PLAD at OU, Shawn Schaefer. This is a 2 year program that has approximately 1.5 years remaining.
2. A comprehensive assessment of current programs and strategies across all Clinton agencies is needed, conducted by a small, dedicated local team. This research will analyze existing initiatives, evaluate their budgets, and measure their effectiveness. The goal is to identify opportunities for optimization, enhance efficiency, and determine whether programs should be streamlined, expanded, or discontinued based on data-driven insights.
3. Research into opportunities specific to Clinton's regions and demographic are extremely important. Geographically, Clinton has potential for more TIF Districts, Brownfield Remediation Programs, and grants pertaining to RT66 and more. Demographically Clinton is perched to qualify for many grants and other National and State funding. That said, the research can take a lot time and effort. It must be a committed focus from a leadership plan for the community.
